EoM Evaluation

Peter Sands GD Yr2
Evaluation

My ability to select develop and evaluate a range of appropriate source material gathered through a breadth of appropriate research methods.

I identified the problem rather quickly and very early on decided how to solve this. I achieved this by doing some initial research and by producing a questionnaire, which gave me an insight into the target audience’s thoughts on the subject. This particular method is not what I usually try however this helped in the development process. This was then developed into a range of ideas, which brought me to my conclusion.

The level of investigation and experimentation into appropriate production media, processes and technologies.

As the final outcome of this project was small in quantity, I feel the ideas and experimentation showed more content and a higher level of investigation.

The breadth and quality of practical skills, ideas and design development.

I feel this project has had a very simplistic outcome, however it has been a more ideas based project and has helped in developing my practical skills, ideas and design development.

The documentation, organisation and presentation of your work for this module.

I have been documenting my development on my blog. I don’t think I have been using my blog as well as I have been in the past. I think this is because just getting myself working on design sheets again, it seems now all I am doing is my blog and not my design sheets. I feel my organisation skills are always improving in every brief but presentation is always behind my organisation.

The success of your final products in relation to the briefs.

I seem to think my final resolution was a success and had a relation to the briefs, however making the idea work combining the two print processes was difficult. Overall I am happy with my outcome and hope others appreciate it as much as I do.

5 things that you will do different next time.

1      Give my subject more thought before I choose.
2      Use my blog more to record my development / findings.
3      Take more advantage of Crits.
4      Find an easier way to manage my work around other briefs.
5      Find time to use support lessons.

evaluation

1. I feel i covered most the research needed, however it didn't seem to feel that much. I created a questionnaire which helped as part of the project. I feel i set myself a big challenge in this project, the final outcome was not big but the purpose was bigger.

2. I think i am now experimenting more than in previous briefs, i tend to stick to one idea from the start.

3. I feel i pushed the ideas as far as i could, and i made decisions at the right time. I feel that i used my time effectively. as the final outcome was not big i still feel the development i did was useful.

4. For this project i decided to again document my development on A2 design sheets as i feel worked in my previous projects. I think i could have used my blog to document my development more. i still found it it useful to work on design sheets because i can put thinks down alot quicker and focus on it more.

5. I feel my presentation boards let me down because it seemed like i didn't do enough work. I will take this on board to the next briefs in future. My final design boards were not all that visually engaging but explained the idea and was easy to understand. i am not looking forward to my final grade, however like always i take on board whats wrong as with every briefs and learn from my mistakes.

Whats working?

I have found that most people don't care much about loose change. It would build up in their pocket during the day and then let loose at the end of the day.  the idea is to produce a pocket/pouch (much like a pouch or wallet) but, this would be smaller and used for the person to collect unwanted change, then put into a charity fund box with a selection of a charity inclosed.
