using positioning/layout, text size or even font or transparency, we can make the eye read different words first.... here i read....'A just sits another turkey peacock sits (again) on his tail is (then reading just another turkey for the final time before finishing).

could we split it any more?... it gets harder.

here i split the proverb after the word 'tail' so we read it almost like two separate sentences....'A peacock who sits on his tail..... is just another turkey.

one of the other tasks was making a proverb easier to read.

this exercise we were asked to write 'four three two one' but make your eye read it as 'one two three four'. this is done either by making the first word bigger than the rest or playing around with positioning on the page.






depending on what word it is sometimes you need to expand the kerning instead of compressing it.


you would start off by changing the space which has the most white area between. in this case 'railway' between the 'l' and 'w'.


changing the kerning makes the word slightly more readable/solid plus it evens the white area around the word.

Postcards

4 colour print - one photograph of a caravan plus 9 photographs of wheel clamps.
these were then places on top of one another (caravan being background layer) with 'soft light' transparency.


3 colour print- vector image based, based on tent pegs which have been hammered badly.


2 colour print - vector based, new company logo.



1 colour print - pictogram, showing the hitching of the caravan to vehicle.
