Presentation

  1. Just a bit of feedback on the presentation you did. i've tried to be as constructive as possible and left out all the stuff I thought was good, like the way you broke down the comedy genre and how your work has focus.

I put that you need to, if you haven't already, focus on some of these that I believe you didn't mention when presenting.

what content will you use, iconic imagery from the films? or quotes or something?

What tone of voice to you want to portray to your audience. What is your audience. Do you want to introduce younger people to 'Monty Python' or do you want to celebrate its existence as a reminder to the people who would have seen it before?

Are their any decisions behind your choice of Monty Python films, why would you pick one over another? Is one more successful than another? Maybe you could carry out a questionnaire to find out which films are more regarded than others.

How will you approach designing the sequence? Will the design style reflect the style of Monty Python or will you update it to get a new audience interested? Hand-crafted or software led?

The colours you have at the moment, for me, don't tie in that well with the python theme. I would envisage washed out colours or pastels that reflect the time when the films were released. I like the range of typefaces you have but you could also look some less 'in your face' fonts that could complement one of these if you choose to use them.

Hopefully the things I've mentioned will help you, and good luck with it.

  3. Good presentation with a firm understanding of where you would like the project to go, Although I do think we should be able to see a lot more back up work which led you to this idea and what you have in store for further development. I think you should write down a bit about what you would like to achieve, target audience and colour scheme... not red orange yellow green blue indigo and violet.. that was an interesting slide Peter.

  4. Problem Analysis:
    - No evidence of concept statement.

    Contextual Understanding:
    - What context will you use - images/type/sound.

    Research:
+ Good evidence of looking into comedy films.
    - You must be more specific in what comedy films you will be doing.

    Design direction:
+Good evidence of possible type faces that might be used.
    - Need to clarify what images will be used, your chosen type, sound and a better choice of colours.

    Additional Comments:
-Need to be more specific on the genre of films.
-Need to be more decisive on the type face and colour.
-You must be clear and direct in what you are doing. To many maybes.
